The employment survey was conducted in the following sectors;
- Private sector – Tanzania Union of Industrial and Commercial Workers (TUICO) member companies in 5 regions
- Education sector – Teachers in 6 regions through Tanzania Teachers Union (TTU)
- Health/social welfare sector – Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MoHSW) in 1 region
The policy brief on the Employment
of People with disabilities in the Health sector presents the findings of the
survey report conducted in one region of Dar es salam for the 20 departments
and institutions falling under the Ministry of Health and social welfare. The
study establishes that there were few employees with disabilities, just only 17
employees (2.3%) out of the total number of 738 employees in the 20 survey
institutions, had different types of disabilities.
